Proctored Exam Services for Other Colleges and Universities
Florida SouthWestern State College Testing Services provides proctored exam services for students enrolled in courses at other colleges and universities. Proctoring is available mainly at the Thomas Edison (Lee) Campus in Fort Myers. These services are offered in a secure, monitored testing environment and are intended for students who require an approved testing location to complete exams for non‑FSW institutions.
Steps to Arrange a Proctored Exam
To ensure your exam is available for administration, complete the following steps:
- Provide your home institution or instructor with the FSW Testing Services contact information so exam materials and instructions can be sent to FSW.
- Confirm with your instructor or testing office that the exam information has been sent.
- Confirm with the FSW Testing Services that your exam materials have been received.
- Schedule a testing appointment once confirmation is complete.
A $40 non‑refundable, non‑transferable proctoring fee is required per exam and is paid at the Testing Center on the day of testing.
Important Notes
- A valid photo ID is required. Acceptable forms include a government‑issued ID (Driver’s License, Passport, Green Card, Military ID), an FSW BUC ID Card, or a current high school or college ID.
- Exam materials must be received by FSW no later than three business days prior to your requested test date.
- Exams or instructions received after 4:00 p.m. on Friday will not be processed until the following Monday.
- Students must allow sufficient time to complete their exam before the Testing Center closes.
- Children are not permitted in testing labs and may not be left unattended in the facility.

College closures follow the Official College Calendar and affect all testing services.
Testing Regulations
- All notes and scratch paper will be collected before you leave the Testing Center.
- Copying or removing testing materials is prohibited.
- Testing labs are equipped with video surveillance, and computer activity is monitored throughout the exam.
Prohibited Items
- Electronic devices, including personal calculators, cell phones, smart watches or glasses, tablets, and earbuds
- Personal items such as hats, sunglasses, watches, handbags, backpacks, and umbrellas
- Food and beverages
Testing Irregularities
- Use of unauthorized materials, accessing prohibited websites, or any other testing irregularities will be reported to the home institution or instructor and may result in exam invalidation.

Certification and Specialty Exams
Florida SouthWestern State College Testing Services provides proctoring for approved certification and specialty exams that require a secure testing environment. These exams are administered only at the Thomas Edison (Lee) Campus in Fort Myers.
Requesting a Proctored Certification Exam
To request proctoring, the student’s school, institution, or employer must email the required exam information to leeproctor@fsw.edu. Requests must include:
- Student name
- School, institution, or company name
- Exam name
- Approved exam dates
- Exam length
- Identification requirements
- Allowed materials or test aids
- Exam password (for online exams)
- Computer and software requirements, including browser and system specifications (for online exams)
- Any additional instructions or requirements
FSW Testing Services will review the request and determine whether the exam can be administered. Once approved, Testing Services will contact the student by email to confirm receipt of the information and schedule the exam.
Fees and Identification
- Exam fees must be paid in person at the Cashier’s Office.
- Proof of payment must be presented to Testing Center staff on the day of testing.
- All exam fees are non‑refundable and non‑transferable.
- A valid photo ID is required. Students must meet the identification requirements specified by the exam sponsor.

Microsoft Office and Intuit Certification Exams
Florida SouthWestern State College offers several industry‑recognized certification exams to eligible students through its authorized Certiport Testing Center.
Microsoft Office Certification (MOS) Exams
Students currently enrolled in CGS1100 or CGS2511, or who have completed either course within the previous three semesters, are eligible to take MOS exams. Available exams include:
- Microsoft Word Associate
- Microsoft Excel Associate
- Microsoft PowerPoint Associate
Each exam is 50 minutes in length.
Intuit Certification Exams
- Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional: Available to students currently enrolled in ACG2021 or who completed the course in the previous semester. The exam includes 40 questions, is 50 minutes long, and covers foundational accounting concepts.
- Intuit QuickBooks Online Certified User: Available to students currently enrolled in ACG2450 or who completed the course within the previous three semesters. The exam consists of six sections with 39 questions and simulations. A minimum score of 75% is required to pass, and students have 50 minutes to complete the exam.
Testing Information
Students must create a Certiport account prior to testing. These certification exams are offered at no cost to eligible FSW students and are administered only at the Thomas Edison (Lee) Campus Testing Center.
