The Assessment Hold is resolved by proving you are college–level on three areas: Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.
Read the following paragraphs carefully to find out if you are eligible for an exemption, if you need to take a common placement test (Accuplacer Next–Generation or PERT), or if your test scores will suffice. You can mix and match exemptions, testing or scores but all three areas must be satisfied to have your hold removed.
Removing the Assessment Hold Via Exemption
The evidence you may use for test exemption can be shown by either one of the following:
- Demonstration of active-duty status in any branch of the United States Armed Services.
- Entering 9th grade and earning a Florida standard high school diploma.
You may also mix and match one or more of the following:
- Achievement of an accelerated credit program passing score in the areas of reading, writing, and/or math.
- Completion or placement into college courses.
Contact Testing Services to inquiry whether or not you qualify for an exemption based on these criteria.
Resolving the Assessment Hold Via Test Scores
FSW accepts the highest test scores from any test or combination of tests. Test scores are valid for 2 years. (F.A.C. 6A-10.0315(I)(2)):
- P.E.R.T.
- ACT/SAT
- Next-Generation ACCUPLACER.
- Alternative Assessment
