How to Resolve a Cornerstone SLS 1515 Hold on Your Account

How to Resolve a Cornerstone SLS 1515 Hold on Your Account

If you have a “CR” hold on your account indicating that SLS 1515 Cornerstone Experience is required, you must complete certain steps before you can register. This hold means that you have not yet passed SLS 1515 Cornerstone Experience with a grade of ‘D’ or better.

“How does this hold affect me?”

You cannot register for classes until you resolve the hold.

“How do I resolve the hold?”

You must register for SLS 1515 using a special registration request form. Once you register for SLS 1515, the hold will be removed and you can register for additional classes normally using the FSW Portal. You do not need to contact your Academic Advisor to resolve this hold. You can do it yourself!

“How do I complete the registration request form?”

Option 1: Contact the Office of the Registrar
  • Email registrar@fsw.edu and ask for the Registration Request Form
  • When received, please complete the following information: ◦ Academic Year: 24-25 ◦ Term: Spring ◦ Course ID: SLS 1515 ◦ Course CRN: Enter the CRN number of your first-choice sectionAlternate CRN: Enter the CRN number of your second-choice section (in case the first choice is full) ◦Course Title: Cornerstone ◦I WANT TO: Select ADD
  • Click the checkbox box to confirm your consen
  • Click Submit and it will be automatically submitted to the Office of the Registrar for processing
Option 2: Come to the Office of the Registrar In-Person

“How do I find a section of SLS 1515? How do I find the CRN number?”

Use the FSW schedule search tool to find a section that works for your schedule. In the Subject field, enter SLS. In the Course Number field, enter 1515. Make sure you also select the correct Term, Part of Term, Attendance Options, and Campus. The CRN number will be listed next to the course name (e.g., CRN: 12345). If the course name is green, there are seats available. If the course name is red, the section is full and you will need to pick a different section.

“I can’t find any sections of SLS 1515 that work for my schedule. What do I do?”

Continue searching every day. New sections may be added periodically, and new seats will open as other students adjust their schedules. Early mornings are the best time to search for open seats in a class.

“How long will it take for the hold to be removed after I submit the form?”

The Office of the Registrar processes registration request forms within 1-2 business days. You will receive a response about the status of your form via email to your FSW BUCS email account. The Office of the Registrar will input comments, if they were unable to fulfill your request. For example, if the section you selected is now full. When you see SLS 1515 on your schedule, that means the hold has been lifted.

“I need help selecting other classes, besides SLS 1515”

Your Academic Advisor is here to assist you! Visit the Academic Advising webpage for instructions to schedule a meeting. But don’t wait! Even if you are not sure what classes you wish to take, you should still complete the registration request form and add SLS 1515 to your schedule now. Your Advisor can help you make decisions about the rest of your schedule afterwards!

“I know some other classes that I want to take next semester. Can I include them on the registration request form?”

Yes! If you know some other classes that you wish to take in addition to SLS 1515, you can include them on the registration request form. If seats are available at the time your request is processed, the Office of the Registrar will attempt to add you to all classes that you list on the form.

“Do I need to complete this form again if I want to make changes to my schedule later?”

No. The only time you are required to use this form is to add SLS 1515 to your schedule. Once that is done, the hold will be removed and you can add or drop additional classes normally on the FSW Portal (except, you must keep SLS 1515 on your schedule).
