Resources for FSW First Generation Students
What does First Generation mean?
First Generation college students are students who are the first in their family to graduate with a 4-year college degree. This means that no parent/step-parent/guardian in the home has graduated with a baccalaureate (4-year) degree.
Approximately 41% of all FSW students are considered first generation.
US Department of Education notes that 33% of students in college today are the first in their family to attend college.
