Biography

Professor Munir R. Al-Suleh joined Florida Southwestern State College as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business and Technology in August 2009. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Birzeit University in Jerusalem, Palestine in 2000, and both an M.S. in Environmental Engineering in 2003 and a Corporate MBA in 2019 from Florida International University.
Professor Al-Suleh is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida since 2007, and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2020. He currently serves as a Principal Civil Engineer and Associate Vice President at Carollo Engineers in Fort Myers, a position he has held since April 2022. Before that he worked as a Senior Project Manager at Banks Engineering from 2020 to 2022, a Project Manager at CDM Smith from 2018 to 2020, a Senior Project Engineer at AIM Engineering and Surveying from 2016 to 2018, and a Project Engineer at Bean, Whitaker, Lutz, and Kareh (currently Haley Ward, Inc.) from 2003 to 2016
Professor Al-Suleh’s expertise includes stormwater management, water and wastewater pipeline design, project and construction management, as well as proficiency in GIS (ArcPro) and Civil 3D. In addition to his role at FSW, he is an Adjunct Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), teaching in the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering.
He is an active member of the professional community, Professor Al-Suleh is affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Florida Engineering Society (FES), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA), American Public Works Association (APWA), and Florida Surveying and Mapping Society.
Earlier in his career, Professor Al-Suleh worked as a Graduate Student Assistant at the FIU Environmental Laboratory, conducting environmental impact studies, assisting with site assessments, and proposing remediation technologies. He also gained valuable experience as an Engineer Intern at Miami-Dade County’s Department of Environmental Resource Management (DERM), where he contributed to GIS analysis of wastewater pumping station data.
