What We'll Teach You
Through hands-on learning and access to modern audio equipment and software, you’ll gain professional skills in:
- Digital Audio Production – Learn how to record, edit, and mix audio using industry-standard tools.
- Recording Techniques – Explore microphone placement, signal flow, and studio workflows.
- Multi-Track Mixdown – Develop advanced mixing techniques across multiple audio tracks.
- Music Technology Fundamentals – Understand the history, evolution, and application of music technology in the modern industry.
Program Information
Duration: The Audio Technology Certificate consists of 15 credit hours and can be completed in approximately 1-2 semesters depending on course load and availability.
Curriculum: Courses taught in this certificate include Digital Audio I, Recording Techniques I, Recording Techniques II, Multi-Track Mixdown Techniques, and Introduction to Technology in Music.
Degrees & Certificates
This program awards a College Credit Certificate (CCC) in Audio Technology upon successful completion. Credits earned in this certificate program can be applied toward an Associate in Science (AS) degree, allowing for continued academic and career growth.

How to Apply
Prospective students should check FSW's admission portal for application guidelines and submit their application along with the necessary documents. Once you are accepted, you will be assigned an advisor who will help you register.
If you are interested in the Audio Technology Certificate, you can apply directly for the certificate if you are not planning to pursue another degree. You can also apply to the Associate in Arts degree in General Studies and speak with your advisor about staying on track to receive the certificate as part of your studies.
