Florida SouthWestern State College's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Information Systems Technology program is designed to prepare graduates for higher-level employment in Information Technology management in areas such as systems programming, systems design and architecture, network security, and help desk support services. The program also provides the professional development necessary to help meet the growing regional demand for skilled Information Technology workers in Southwest Florida.

Degrees/Certificates

Graduates of the BAS, Information Systems Technology Degree can pursue Master's Degrees in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related areas at many local colleges and universities as well as those located throughout the state and country. Graduates of the FSW BAS IST program can matriculate into the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship graduate programs and certificates at Nova Southeastern University.  

Program Information

Curriculum: The BAS in Information Systems Technology program includes courses in information systems management, computer programming, computer networking, information security, e-commerce, mobile application development, and business. Elective choices include additional courses in management, information technology, entrepreneurship, and marketing.

Duration: The Information Systems Technology, BAS degree consists of 120 credit hours and can be completed in 2 years with full-time enrollment. The program is designed for both full-time and part-time students. Courses are offered in online and traditional formats to accommodate students’ varying schedules and learning preferences.

Prospective students should check FSW's admission portal for application guidelines and submit their application along with the necessary documents. Once accepted, you will be assigned an advisor who will help you register. 

If you are interested in the Information Systems Technology BAS degree, you can apply directly to the program. You can also apply to the Associate in Arts degree in General Studies and speak with your advisor about incorporating information systems courses into your studies.
