Collier Campus Student Life Coordinator Named State Advisor

Suzanne Buntic, the Edison State College Collier Campus Student Life Coordinator, has been named State Advisor for the Florida Community College Activities Association (FCCAA) and the Florida Junior and Community College Student Government Association (FJCCSGA). Her one-year term ends June 30, 2011.

 

Her responsibilities include providing the organization’s executive board with a proposed budget for the next fiscal year, attending all FJCCSGA meetings and serving in an advisory capacity to the executive board, and organizing several annual events, including the Leadership Retreat, the FJCCSGA Presidents’ Assemblies and the Summer Advisors’ Workshop. She is the first State Advisor from the Edison State College Collier Campus.

 

Buntic graduated from Edison Community College Collier Campus in 2000. While attending she was involved in clubs and organizations such as the Student Government Association (SGA), serving as President. She then earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), before rejoining Edison State College as the Student Life Coordinator. She will earn her Masters in Professional Studies from Hodges University in December. As the Student Life Coordinator, she manages student leadership, student activities, clubs and organizations, serves as the SGA advisor and co-advisor to the Multicultural Club. She also coordinates the Collier Project HOPE Scholarship Program, and for the past three years she has been awarded the Staff of the Year Award, which is voted on by the student body. Additional accolades at the state level include the highly prestigious Florida Junior Community Colleges Student Government Association (FJCCSGA) District One Advisor of the year Award in 2006, 2007, and 2009.

 

The Edison State College Collier Campus, 7007 Lely Cultural Parkway, is located off Collier Boulevard, three miles north of Tamiami Trail East.
