K-9 Unit Demonstration will be at the Charlotte Campus
Jan 14, 2010
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit is coming to the Charlotte campus. A demonstration by the group is being sponsored by the campus Republican Club and will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 19 in the grassy area by the auditorium. The Canine Unit is actively involved with various community organizations, providing demonstrations for schools, youth groups, retirement homes, and civic groups. The demonstrations give the handlers a chance to showcase how they interact with their canine partners on a different level, showing the fun and relaxed side of the profession as well as explaining the important role these “police officers” play in helping keep our community safe. Just this week, one of the dogs, Charlotte, was credited with helping locate a lost Charlotte County citizen. The demonstration is free of charge and popcorn will be available.
