SW Florida Symphony violin workshop with guest artist Timothy Fain to be Held at Edison State College.

The Edison State College and the Southwest Florida Symphony have enjoyed an excellent relationship for years. On November 22, the Edison State College Bandroom will welcome the SW Florida Symphony’s Violin workshop for students with renowned violinist Timothy Fain.

The Southwest Florida Symphony continues its mission of offering professional musical experiences to the community by providing a violin workshop for students involved in the Youth Symphony, the Sinfonietta and other interested violin students from the area.

Violinist Timothy Fain will instruct the students. Mr. Fain is the featured soloist in the performance of the Barber "Violin Concerto" on the Southwest Florida Symphony's Nov. 21 concert program.

Mr. Fain is emerging as a leading violinist of the younger generation, recently selected as one of Symphony Magazine's "Up and Coming" Young Musicians. An Avery Fischer Career Grant recipient, he has performed with the Baltimore Symphony, the New York Chamber Symphony, the Mexico Philharmonic, and at the Spoleto Festival in Italy.

Students who pre-register and attend the workshop will be offered a free ticket to the "Made in America" concert performance on Nov. 21, providing the opportunity to hear a talented young artist with the professional orchestra.

The Timothy Fain Violin Workshop is funded by a grant from Publix Super Markets Charities. The event will be held in the ESC Bandroom at 1:00 p.m. on Nov. 22 .
