Jun 1, 2009

The list of Academic Allstars in Lee County Schools includes many students dually enrolled at Edison State College.

Anna Kallin of Lehigh Senior High, Alina Ciornii of Cape Coral High and Signe Thomas of Mariner Senior High School  were recently featured by the News Press as a Academic All Stars.  Additionally, Cody Marlowe, Brad Hansen and Monica Wilson who worked as tutors in The Tutoring Center were named as All Stars.

Anna tells the News Press her favorite high school moment was, "walking the Barbara B. Mann stage at Edison State College to receive my associate’s degree."

In an essay entitled, Then and Now Anna writes, "One of my main motivations for working hard in school has been the prospect of graduating with not only my standard high school diploma, but also being awarded an associate’s degree from Edison."

Alina wrote this of her classes at Edison State, "The experience of college before actually going to college also motivated me to continue dual enrolling. The fact that I could be earning college credits while still in high school motivated me to take any academic opportunity to do so."

Edison State is proud to serve more than 560 dual enrolled students.
