May 7, 2009

The Scientists’ Society of Southwest Florida recently contributed $2,400 to the Edison State College Foundation in support of scholarships for students interested in science- driven classes and professions.

Since the mid-1990s the Society has contributed over $30,000 to the Edison State scholarship fund to encourage students to pursue careers requiring a strong foundation in the sciences.

The Scientists' Society of Southwest Florida furthers science-based careers by encouraging the continued professional development of its members and the education of students preparing for a career in the sciences and related fields.  The Society also provides a pool of experts who serve as judges at science fairs throughout Southwest Florida.

The Edison State College Foundation, Inc. supports Edison State College’s programs and services through the development of private funds and partnerships that advance the education and welfare of the institution, its students, its faculty and staff, and the communities it serves.
