FSW Welcomes New Dean of the School of Health Professions

MARCH 14, 2019 – FORT MYERS, FLA – Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) welcomes Dr. Paula Tropello as the new dean of the School of Health Professions.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Tropello to FSW,” said FSW Interim Provost Dr. Eileen DeLuca. “She brings a rich history of teaching, practice and leadership in nursing. The School of Health Professions will benefit from her perspective and leadership.”
Dr. Tropello was the founding dean of Wagner College’s School of Nursing in NYC, and she started the first doctorate for nurse practitioners program at Wagner College. She has also taught associates, bachelors and masters level courses. Dr. Tropello earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia, her masters at the University of Florida, and her doctorate from Rutgers University. She is a nationally boarded nurse practitioner and has worked per diem for many years with a small rural practice. Dr. Tropello also serves as an accreditation/curriculum consultant.
“FSW’s School of Health Professions has wonderful opportunities for inter-professional simulation training among all of our programs,” said Dr. Tropello. “I look forward to bringing this type of training to our students as well as responding to any new healthcare needs in the community.”
