Radiologic Technology Program Accreditation Reaffirmed Through 2026

OCTOBER 2, 2018 – FORT MYERS, FLA – Florida SouthWestern State College’s (FSW) Associate in Science in Radiologic Technology has received continuing accreditation from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) having met the Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiography. The program was reaffirmed through 2026.

“Accreditation ensures that we are delivering the highest quality program and education to our students,” said James Mayhew, program director, FSW Radiologic Technology. “When students graduate from accredited programs, it also assures their employers and patients that they have received the highest level of training and are qualified to enter the workforce.”

Radiologic technologists are allied health professionals who combine patient care skills with an in-depth knowledge of human anatomy and proficient utilization of medical imaging equipment. The technologist’s goal is to produce diagnostic images of the human body with minimum radiation exposure at a level of proficiency that will cause the least discomfort to the patient.

About JRCERT: The JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.
