FSW Earns National Ranking

College Choice has announced its list of the 30 best community colleges offering online associate degrees in the country. Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) has been ranked 26th. Nationally, there are over 1,600 community colleges.
“We’re pleased to be recognized on a national level for the opportunities our students have here at FSW,” said Dr. Jeff Allbritten, FSW President.
In order to compile the list, College Choice correlated data from Aspen Institute’s College Excellent Program and individual community colleges. Several factors helped determine the ranking, including first-year retention rates, three-year graduation rates, and credentials awarded. Additional consideration was given to the percentage of non-traditional and minority students, the percentage of Pell grants and minority graduation rates for a diversity score. College Choice also factored online tuition rates.
Earlier this year, College Choice ranked FSW 31st in the country in their 50 Best Community Colleges list, and The Community for Accredited Online Schools ranked FSW 40th out of 394 state universities, colleges and vocational schools in Florida as one of the best colleges offering online learning.
College Choice is an independent online publication dedicated to helping students and their families find the right college. They publish rankings and reviews that make choosing the best college easier, as well as resources to help students get into, pay for, and thrive at the college of their choice.
