Jun 1, 2017
JUNE 1, 2017 – FORT MYERS, FLA – The Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) Music Program will hold scholarship auditions for new and current music students on Wednesday, June 14, at the FSW Thomas Edison Campus, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers.
To receive the scholarship, students must be fulltime and degree seeking. Scholarship auditions are open to music majors as well as students who would like to participate in ensembles and/or take one-on-one applied lessons, including woodwind, brass, percussion, all strings, piano or voice.
FSW provides a variety of musical experiences--both for those who will be consumers of music, and those who will be music professionals. Students may take courses leading to an Associate of Arts degree with a music emphasis or one-on-one applied lessons with master teachers. Performance opportunities in outstanding ensembles include FSW Concert Band, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensembles, College Choir and many chamber groups. Courses include music theory, sight singing and ear training, music history and appreciation, class piano, jazz improvisation, class voice audio technology and more.
