Respiratory Care and Cardiovascular Technology Programs Hold Information Sessions

MARCH 23, 2017 – FORT MYERS, FLA – Florida SouthWestern State College’s (FSW) Respiratory Care and Cardiovascular Technology programs will hold a series of joint informational sessions this spring. Sessions are noon-2 p.m., in Building A, Room 214, at the FSW Thomas Edison Campus, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers.
The public is welcomed to attend any of the information sessions below:

- Monday, April 17
- Wednesday, May 10
- Wednesday, May 24
FSW’s Respiratory Care program is accredited by The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). The program is designed to offer students the opportunity to obtain an Associate in Science Degree in Respiratory Care. Upon completion of the program, students will be registry-eligible Respiratory Therapists and will take the National Board for Respiratory Care Examinations. Respiratory Therapists are employed in acute care hospital settings, skilled nursing centers, rehabilitation, neo-natal intensive care, and home care environments.

FSW’s Cardiovascular Technology program is accredited in invasive cardiology by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) based on the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology. The Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist is employed in cardiovascular catheterization laboratories. Working with a cardiologist, Cardiovascular Technologists perform sophisticated tests in order to diagnose and quantify cardiac disorders including coronary artery disease, cardiac valve disease, or disorders of the heart’s electrical conduction system.
