Four Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) students were named to the 2017 All-Florida Academic Team.
Lindsay Brubaker and Claudie Heriveaux from the Collier Campus in Naples, Fla. and Maria Aguilera and Cierra Homic from the Thomas Edison Campus in Fort Myers, Fla. were each recognized by the Florida College System and the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society for their academic achievement, leadership skills and service to the community.
Out of approximately 800,000 students enrolled in the Florida College System, FSW students were four of 127 named to the team.
“Being named to the All-Florida Academic Team is an impressive achievement for our students,” said Dr. Christine Davis, Vice President of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management. “They are nominated by faculty here at FSW because they exemplify the sort of excellence we work to cultivate at the college. We are so proud of them.”
The Florida College System and PTK Florida Region will host the 2017 All-Florida Academic Team Award Ceremony on April 7 in Tallahassee, Fla. where each student will be honored and presented with a medallion. Those on the state team are also eligible for the All-USA Academic Team competition, sponsored by USA Today and PTK, which provides $5,000 individual scholarships to attend four-year institutions.
