Family-Friendly ‘Haunted College’ Returns to Charlotte Campus
Oct 24, 2016
The “Haunted College” tradition returns to the Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) Charlotte Campus this Friday, Oct. 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The campus showcases its Halloween spirit with spooky decorations, candy giveaways, and family-friendly activities such as Guess How Many and Stack-a-Jack. Children of all ages are encouraged to attend this free event with their families.
Participation in the “Haunted College” grows each year, especially among student clubs who secretly decorate classrooms to match trick-or-treat themes like Harry Potter or The Nightmare Before Christmas. Faculty and staff also compete in an annual Halloween costume contest. This year’s costume theme is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
“With new activities and a record participation from clubs, it’s a tradition that really excites me the most,” said Michael Beane, coordinator of Campus Student Engagement at the FSW Charlotte Campus. “Every year this event also provides an opportunity for FSW faculty and staff to express themselves in a creative way.”
Organizers are expecting the biggest turnout in the history of the “Haunted College.”
The FSW Charlotte Campus is located at 26300 Airport Road in Punta Gorda, Fla. For more information, contact the Campus Student Engagement office at (941) 637-5634.
