January 8, 2013 – FORT MYERS, FLA – Edison State College alumnus Daro Kurdson was one of 11 students throughout the United States to receive the Sigma Beta Delta International Fellowship award for 2013. Every year, the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration selects 11 students from its more than 375 national and three international chapters for the fellowship.
Kurdson is the first Edison State College student to receive the fellowship. He is also the first Edison State student to be nominated for the award.
“Edison’s Sigma Beta Delta chapter nominated Daro both for his academic excellence and his willingness to mentor other students,” said Kelly Eakins, coordinator, Retention and Student Success, BAS, Supervision and Management, Edison State College. “He is a true example of what Sigma Beta Delta represents.”
Kurdson earned his BAS, Supervision and Management degree from Edison State College in May 2013. He is using the $1500 fellowship to earn his master’s degree in finance and combine it with a master’s degree in international business at Florida International University.
“I feel great to have been chosen to receive the fellowship,” Kurdson said. “I’m very thankful to Sigma Beta Delta’s Edison State College Chapter for nominating me.”
