Accounting Program at Edison College Benefits from FICPA Gift

A donation from the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants [FICPA] is bolstering student success in Edison College's accounting program. The $1,000 gift funded the purchase of licensed software, which supplements the required textbook, providing students with 24-hour access to web-based learning material, such as practice exams and interactive simulations for homework assignments.
Approximately 100 students across Edison's five-county district are currently benefitting from the FICPA's generosity.
"This financial assistance is a real gift to our students," says Accounting Professor Earl Biggett. "Many of them juggle work, family and school, and textbooks are expensive. Our students love the flexibility to log on to this software program anytime to get supplemental, real-world practice scenarios and problems. The interactive tool keeps them engaged, provides immediate feedback, and is constantly updated to reflect what's happening in the accounting field. It's a great asset in helping students stay current in the field and graduate prepared to enter the workforce."
