Veterans Events Planned at ESC

EDISON STATE COLLEGE TO HOST WEEKLONG VETERANS DAY ACTIVITIES
November 5, 2012 – SOUTHWEST FLORIDA – Edison State College will be honoring veterans with several activities planned on its three campuses.
“It is important for us to recognize and appreciate our veterans for all they have sacrificed,” said Dr. Jeff Allbritten, President, Edison State College. “And not just on Veterans Day, but every day.”
Student Life on the Lee Campus in Fort Myers will be hosting a Veterans Day BBQ from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7. For more information, call (239) 489-9246 or email Angela.Hodge@edison.edu.
On the Charlotte Campus in Punta Gorda, the Military Appreciation Club has planned several activities, with a military ribbons and yellow ribbons fundraiser to send CARE packages to deployed service members. On Wednesday, Nov. 7, they will host a Wall of Honor unveiling and on Thursday, Nov. 8 they will host a flag-folding ceremony. For more information, call (941) 637-5634 or email mbeane@edison.edu.
On the Collier Campus in Naples, Student Life is hosting Professor Jason Calabrese, a veteran who also works with veteran Edison students. He will speak at 2 p.m. in the auditorium on Thursday, Nov. 8. The newly-formed Veterans Interest Group will be meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. in Building N, Room 148.
