Edison College Holds Nurse-Pinning Ceremony

A pinning ceremony for new graduates of the Edison College Advanced Placement Nursing Program at the Charlotte Campus was held December 7. The 17 new graduates have completed the requirements for the Associate in Science Degree in Nursing and are now eligible to take the RN licensing examination.
Special recognition awards went to Susan Key Hyland, Most Outstanding Student for academic and professional development; Yvette Vargas, Clinical Excellence - Childbearing Family; and Mindy Leggett, Medical Surgical Excellence. Randi M. Coffey received the Academic Achievement award for being the graduate with the class' highest gradepoint average. Other high academic achievement awards, given to students with a 3.5 or higher, went to Pamela N. Hahn and Wainford Lawrence. Dawn Michele Zoerner and Laura Jean Ross were recognized by their peers for excellence in obstetric/pediatric nursing with the Student's Choice Award, and Hahn for Medical-Surgical Nurse.
Other graduating students honored were Edith Benoit, Islene Bruno, Charlotte Haywood, Melissa Loper-Garmon, Jiyeon Jeong, Tammie Karalfa, Vadnie M. Phillips, Laura Jean Ross, Melody Anne Roy and Nadine K. Samedi.
