Daniels Wins Bob Graham Award

May 1, 2012

The newest location of Edison State College, the Hendry/Glades Center, earned statewide recognition when Heath Daniels, the center’s Student Life Specialist, won the Bob Graham Award in the category of Advisor. It was announced during the annual Florida College System Student Government Association (FCSSGA) Year End Conference and “Rally in Tally” in Tallahassee.

“Heath brings the students on the Hendry/Glades Center an incredible college experience with the formation of a Student Government Association,” said Dr. Robert R. Jones, Collier Campus President. “In less than two years, the SGA has grown from just three members to more than 25 students who actively participate in FCSSGA and around the community.”

Nominations are received statewide from Student Government Associations. This is the sixth year in a row that Edison State College has earned statewide recognition.  The awards are given to one student, one faculty/staff member, one community supporter and one SGA/SAB/CAB advisor to recognize their service to a community or state college.

This year, members of the Hendry/Glades Center and Collier Campus SGAs attended several workshops and presentations.
