Congratulations to all faculty and staff across the Edison College district who have helped foster an engaging environment where students are able to learn and achieve their academic goals. This week's issue of Community College Week features Dr. Pat Gordin, District Director, Institutional Effectiveness, and Edison's Student Opportunities for Achievement and Rewards SOAR program. Results from the Spring 2007 Community College Survey of Student Engagement, CCSSE, survey indicate that Edison students exceed both the Florida Community College and national samples in their engagement with academic courses, programs and services. Students report that they have greatly increased their investment in time studying, in communicating and working with faculty, and in using College support services since the survey was first administered in 2004.
