Edison State College Names Interim President of the Collier Campus
Edison State College District President, Dr. Kenneth P. Walker, announces today the appointment of Dr. Robert Jones as the Interim Collier Campus President. Dr. Jones will continue to serve as Vice President and Provost of the Hendry/Glades Center.
“A seasoned administrator, Dr. Jones will continue to ensure continuity of services at both the Collier Campus and the Center in LaBelle,” said Dr. Walker. “His willingness to take on the additional responsibilities is commendable. I believe his experience will provide outstanding leadership during this transitional period.” The College will begin a search process after the faculty return in the fall.
Dr. Jones previously held a similar position at the campus eight years ago. He served as Interim Provost prior to hiring Dr. Jeff Allbritten, who recently announced he accepted a presidency position at Macon State College in Macon, Georgia. “I have a strong appreciation for our students and the communities of Naples, Immokalee, Golden Gate City and Estates,” said Dr. Jones. “I look forward continuing the positive leadership Dr. Allbritten provided and maintaining the high standards our students expect.”
Dr. Jones joined the College in 1991. Jones holds a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Jones also attended the Harvard College Executive Leadership Institute for New College Presidents.
