Statement from Dr. Kenneth P. Walker, District President, Edison State College
My original intention was to present the information regarding a significant reduction in my total compensation package to the District Board of Trustees at the April 26th meeting. I thought it was best to present it that way so that the Board would be able to review and discuss it in the public meeting.
However, because of the confusion created by conflicting reports in the media, I have decided to have the report prepared and released today.
The money will revert to the College budget for 2011-2012 to be used for programs and services which will be approved by the Board for the new fiscal year beginning July 1. Although my personal preference would be that some of the money be used to establish a special fund to benefit needy students, the decision will be at the Board’s discretion.
