Korean War Veterans Association will present a scholarship check to the Edison State College Foundation. The group has been a loyal supporter of Edison State student veterans, having made several scholarship contributions since 2007. The gift supports current students who are also military veterans. Edison State College District President Dr. Kenneth P. Walker and the Senior Vice President, Operations, Dr. James Browder will be in attendance.

Veteran James Davis, 32,  is a current Edison State College student enrolled in the Supervision and Management Bachelor degree program. He is a veteran of both “Operation Enduring Freedom” in Afghanistan and “Operation Iraqi Freedom” and currently serves as an E-6 in the United States Navy Reserve. A member of the ESC Student Veteran Association, Davis is excited about the event.

‘The Mobile Vet Center is a fantastic opportunity for veterans in our community,” said Davis. “They offer grief counseling, family counseling- so many pertinent services for veterans and their dependents to take advantage of. These services are important- and they would be extraordinarily expensive to seek privately in the “outside’ world.”
