Biography
Dr. Rebecca L. Harris is an accomplished academic leader currently serving as the Assistant Vice President of College-wide Curriculum and Academic Enhancement. With a Ph.D. in English from Texas A&M University and extensive experience in higher education, Dr. Harris has expertise in curriculum and program development and implementation, assessment, and accreditation.
In her role, Dr. Harris ensures that curriculum development aligns with the college's strategic needs while adhering to state and institutional policies. She provides support to the Vice President for Academic Affairs office on accreditation initiatives with regional and program-specific accreditors.
Dr. Harris oversees the college's degree and certificate approval processes, offering guidance to faculty and reviewing proposals to ensure completeness and compliance. Her role extends to supporting the college's baccalaureate programs and ensuring state reporting requirements are met. She works closely with stakeholders across the institution to facilitate timely communication of curriculum changes and implementation. In addition to her curriculum oversight, Dr. Harris supervises the General Education CREATIVE Capstone, coordinating its day-to-day activities. She also serves in an advisory capacity to deans, department chairs, and vice presidents on matters of curriculum, learning outcomes, and program development.
