Biography

Leonard Owens III is a born-and-bred Floridian. He grew up on the state's east coast, and spent many hours jumping around in the Atlantic Ocean's waves or practicing his jumpshot on quiet basketball courts. He started his education at a state college before going to the University of North Florida and becoming an English major. After graduating, he took a position at Daytona State College to work full-time in their Writing Center. During his time there, he tutored student-writers across all disciplines, collaborated with faculty members on projects, conducted educational research, and also taught composition and literature courses.

In Spring 2020, he moved to the Gulf Coast to take the job he has now as a full-time English Professor at Florida SouthWestern State College. He teaches composition and literature courses.
