Biography
Joanna Liebelt is the Assistant Director of Student Transitions. She brings over 15 years of experience in higher education, particularly in student services and teaching. She is passionate about working with first-year and first-generation students, helping them navigate their academic journey and realize their full potential.
While at Red Rocks Community College, Joanna collaborated cross-departmentally creating First Year Experience courses and programming to promote student success. Joanna holds a Master's Degree in Communication from the University of Northern Colorado and is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University.
In 2021, Joanna joined the Florida SouthWestern State College team as a Student Success Advisor II. Prior to this, she served as a faculty member in the Communication Department at Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, Colorado.
Dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture and valuing individuality, Joanna actively collaborates on initiatives that support underrepresented students, ensuring students have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
