Biography

Dr. Jennifer Henry is an accomplished educator and leader in the field of education, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Adaptive Services. With a distinguished career spanning over a decade, Dr. Henry has made significant contributions to both K-12 and higher education. Beyond her teaching qualifications, Dr. Henry excels in interpersonal and communication skills, enabling her to build positive relationships with students and collaborate effectively with families, faculty, staff, and community partners. She is dedicated to inspiring and empowering individuals to achieve their goals and realize their full potential. Dr. Henry’s career is characterized by a commitment to excellence, a passion for fostering inclusive learning environments, and a steadfast dedication to supporting both students and educators. Education (Degrees and Certifications)

Dr. Henry holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Instructional Technology and Distance Learning from Nova Southeastern University's Fischler College of Education, completed in December 2021. Her dissertation, "Blended Learning Transitioning to Virtual Learning: Middle School Teacher Perspectives," highlights her dedication to enhancing educational experiences through innovative teaching methods. In addition, Dr. Henry earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Reading from Grand Canyon University's School of Education in June 2015. She also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Elementary Education with a concentration in Business from Trinity Christian College, completed in December 2008.

Professional Development

As the Assistant Director of Adaptive Services at Florida Southwestern College since 2023, Dr. Henry oversees programs that support students with diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive and supportive educational environment. Prior to this role, Dr. Henry served in various capacities within the Lee County School District in Fort Myers, Florida, from 2013 to 2019. These roles included ESE Facilitator and Case Manager, Instructional Coach, Mentor, Intervention Support Specialist, and ESOL Specialist. She also worked as an Elementary Educator and Team Leader in Crown Point, IN, from 2008 to 2013.
