Florida SouthWestern Collegiate High School Charlotte Campus is a public charter high school with an open enrollment policy. FSWC-Charlotte is located on the Punta Gorda campus of Florida SouthWestern State College and is part of Charlotte County Public Schools. Our curriculum and student learning philosophies follow a nationally recognized pre-collegiate/collegiate model where students take honors level classes during their freshman and sophomore years in a traditional high school facility. For eligible students, the junior and senior years consist of dual enrollment classes taken on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College where students are offered all the challenges and rewards of being college students. This course of study affords participants with the opportunity to earn a High School Diploma and an Associate's Degree simultaneously in just four years of study. With this tremendous opportunity comes an expectation that students be highly motivated and focused on academic pursuits beginning the very first day of high school. In order to be considered for enrollment, all potential students will be offered the process outlined below:
- All applicants and a parent must view 2 mandatory videos found on our website titled: “Beyond the Halls: FSWC” and “Why Choose FSWC?”.

FSWC-Charlotte will host the following Open House sessions. Attendance at one Open House is mandatory. These sessions take place at 6:00 pm at the High School, 26300 Airport Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33950, Building K on the following dates:
- Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025
- Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025
- The online New Student Application will open on November 19, 2024 and close at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, Febuary 1, 2025. The link can be found on the FSWC-Charlotte homepage under the “Enrollment Process” tab.
- The random lottery will occur on Friday February 14, 2025 during normal school hours for the incoming freshmen (Class of 2029).
- Lottery preference is given to students residing in Charlotte County first.
- Florida Statute provides for sibling and employee preference for applicants. All applicants claiming either of these preferences may be asked to provide proof for verification.
- Applicants will be notified of their acceptance or wait list position by email as soon as possible and no later than Monday, April 12, 2024.
- Enrollment Paperwork is due completed by April 26, 2024 to hold a seat.
- New Student Class of 2029 Orientation will take place on a Saturday in May.
